Plasma Protein C

Plasma Control with Normal and Reduced Protein C Levels (Plasma-Protein C)" according to TU 9398-006-05595541-2011

The kit is intended for quality control in conducting tests to determine the overall activity of the protein C system and to determine the resistance of activated factor V to the action of activated protein C in human blood plasma using the clotting method on all types of coagulometers.

The anticoagulant system of protein C (protein C, protein S, thrombomodulin, thrombin, protein C inhibitor) performs an important function in regulating the coagulation activity of blood plasma. The system's action is primarily aimed at inhibiting factors VIIIa and Va and inactivating the plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI-1). Disorders in the system can lead to thromboses of various localization.

The Plasma-Protein C set is used with the Protein C Screening Test and ReLeiden Test kits produced by NPO RENAM.

Method Principle: Plasma control with normal and reduced protein C levels is analyzed simultaneously with the test plasma when performing tests with the Protein C Screening Test and ReLeiden Test kits according to the instructions provided with the respective reagent kits. The analyzed parameters of the control material should fall within the range of values specified in the kit's passport.

Kit Composition:

  • Lyophilized Plasma Control with Normal Protein C Activity (1 ml/vial) — 3 vials.
  • Lyophilized Plasma Control with Reduced Protein C Activity (1 ml/vial) — 3 vials. One kit is designed for conducting 120 analyses with a consumption of 0.05 ml of plasma per analysis or 60 analyses with a consumption of 0.1 ml of plasma per analysis.

Results Interpretation: The Plasma Control with Normal Protein C Activity has a Normalized Ratio value within the range of 0.7 – 1.1 (exact Normalized Ratio values are specified in the passport for this series of control plasma).

The Plasma Control with Reduced Protein C Activity has a Normalized Ratio value within the range of 0.3 – 0.6 (exact Normalized Ratio values are specified in the passport for this series of control plasma).
